Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s divorce is not breaking their family’s bond.
Two months after the Maid in Manhattan star filed for divorce from the Air director, her sister Lynda Lopez visited Ben’s daughter Violet Affleck at college.
In a post shared to Instagram Nov. 3, the 53-year-old poses alongside the college freshman in a selfie captioned, “New Haven with my favorite Yalie.”
Alongside a blue heart emoji, the two women cozied up in the picture, with Lynda resting her chin on the 18-year-old’s shoulder as she posed behind her. J.Lo’s younger sister also proved to have gotten the full Yale University experience, sharing more photos of campus.
And while some fans speculated over the eyebrow raising family reunion in the comments of Lynda’s post, Ben and J.Lo—who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex Marc Anthony—have already proven that their family bond is stronger than that of their romance.
After all, the Hustlers star spent time with Violet—who is the eldest of Ben and Jennifer Garner’s three kids—this summer, despite the former couple’s date of separation being cited as April in court documents filed in August.
In July, the “On The Floor” singer shared a photo of Violet and one of her friends enjoying the weather in an Instagram Story, writing in a video soundtracked to “Girls” by Kid Laroi, “summertime.”
Meanwhile, Ben—who is also dad to Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12—has also proven that there is no bad blood between himself and his estranged wife following the end of their two-year marriage. Indeed, the Good Will Hunting star recently praised his ex while promoting his new film Small Things Like These for her work acting in one of his other upcoming projects.
“Unstoppable is a very different movie than this, but in a way, it’s similarly rooted in the passion of really talented artists,” he explained in an interview with Entertainment Tonight Nov. 3. “Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer and Don Cheadle and Jharrel [Jerome], and Bobby Cannavale, all were really passionate about this film.”
Their romance may be over, but Jennifer and Ben have proven their connection won’t end entirely in divorce. Keep reading for a look back on their relationship through the years.
